The Delivery Build Manager will own the lifecycle associated with the provisioning of the environments (Test, QA, Production) as defined by the Migration factory. The role includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of provisioning across the respective Strategic Data Centers for multiple technologies.
The Build Manager will be embedded directly with the Data Center Hosting Service Provider to create an organizational structure and processes that will efficiently provision and enable environments for the application owner and the Transformation Partner. In addition, the Build Manager is responsible for ensuring that all requirements are met to enable full end-to-end testing of migrated applications and ensuring that the necessary approvals and authorizations are achieved prior to placing an migrated application into production.
The Build Manager will work collaboratively with all participants in the DCM project and provides direct support to the application owner, the transformation partner, and the migration factory.
The Build Manager will assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence and the overall success of the Data Center Migration Program.
Role and Responsibilities
· Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
· Measure and monitor progress to ensure application environment builds are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
· Coordinate builds and effort based on the request backlog, and pending service requests; while coordinating build, test, and moves to production.
· Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams
· Conduct Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
· Weekly Release Reporting
· Communicate Build details and schedules to the Business as required
· Negotiate, plan and manage all build activities
· Work with Hosting Service Provider to prioritize resources and build activities.
· Maintains the build schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
· Continually work towards making improvements in the build, test, and release to production process
· Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
· Participate in CAB meetings to discuss scope, timeline, priorities, processes, and/or roadblocks
· Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
· Researches new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needs
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
· 2-6 years of previous Build, Release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
· Experience in Data Center transformation or migration is a plus
· Experience in hosting services or data center provisioning is a plus
· 8-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
· Formal training in project management practices preferred
· Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
· Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
· Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
· Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
· General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working Knowledge of Access
