Perform daily maintenance of operations support systems, as well as software updates, patching, design and deployment of new service management functionality.
Keep Manager, OSS informed of significant problems and of progress attained in reaching established objectives.
Implementation and support of the OSS monitoring solutions enabling robust event and performance monitoring across all strategic platforms, databases, networks, web services, and other services.
Maintain the uptime and availability of OSS monitoring systems through timely testing and patching.
Assist and support other team members as required.
Participate in on-call rota for support out of hours.
Prepare reports of activities, records, and other required documents.
Attend and participate in meetings and forums as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
At least 3 years experience in Unix and Linux systems administration
Analytical thinking and good troubleshooting skills
Keen business sense as it relates to technical solutions and making effective decisions
Experience developing with Java and/or Perl
Understanding of developing secure applications, and testing for vulnerabilities
Experience in the use of testing frameworks/methodologies
Comfortable using revision control tools Git and/or DVCS
Good knowledge of SQL and database design
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at a given time
Work on process and technology improvements for the benefit of the team
Ability to adapt to changing business priorities
Must have excellent communication skills – both technical and non-technical
Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional and/or cross-technology team
Professionalism shown at all times
