The selected candidate will conduct research in the research line of Science, Technology, Health and Professions, mostly focused in the topic of Water Uses, Water Management and Governance. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Sociology.REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in Sociology.
Significant research background and fieldwork experience on social studies of science and water governance
Involvement in scientific networks that are strongly related to the topic
Strong experience and knowledge in qualitative methodologies
Fluent in English

The Fellow will conduct advanced research in the field of Water Management and Governance, that will involve literature review and critical analysis of data from previous research undertaken within «Science, Technology, Health and Professions» research line – The main objective is to achieve scientific publications.TIMETABLE and FELLOWSHIP DURATION
The fellowship will be awarded for a period of 7 months, starting in February 2015, and will be eligible under Incentivo/SADG/UI0428/2014. The position will be governed by the rules of both FCT and SOCIUS. During this period the researcher is expected to work full time on this project.LEGISLATION FRAMEWORK
A fellowship contract will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT “Regulations for Advanced Training and Qualification of Human Resources”, in accordance with Law 40/2004, of 18 August, as amended and republished by Decree-Law No. 202/2012 of 27 August, and as amended by Decree-Law No. 233/2012 of 29 October and by Law No. 12/2013, of January 29, and Decree-Law No. 89/2013 of 9 July. And also by the FCT, I.P. Fellowships Regulation of 2013 approved by Regulation No. 234/2012, of June 25, as amended by Regulation No 326/2013 of 27 August 2013, in force ( www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/regulamento.phtml.pt )MONTHLY ALLOWANCE
The fellowship amounts to € 1495, according to table values of the fellowships awarded directly by the FCT, IP. ( http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The fellowship holder will have a personal accident insurance and, if not covered by any social protection scheme can ensure the right to social security through adherence to the voluntary social insurance scheme, pursuant to “Código dos Regimes Contributivos do Sistema Previdencial de Segurança Social”. The fellowship will be paid monthly by bank transfer.SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be initially screened on the basis of two written elements:
- A letter elaborating on the motivations for applying to the fellowship;
- A short CV highlighting the elements relevant for the fulfillment of the preferential requirements (selected candidates will be asked to provide an official certificate at admission).
The selection of candidates will be made by curriculum evaluation 80% and (if justified) by interview 20% (only selected candidates). Based on these elements, an internal evaluation committee – headed by the fellowship supervisor, Professor Helena Jerónimo and Professor Isabel Mendes will rank-order the applications and make a final decision on the selected applicant.APPLICATION PROCESS AND DEADLINE
